objectweb & eclipse web tool project

Hello,

Following various contacts between ObjectWeb's participants
and Eclipse .

Eclipse is currently launching a project named Web tools, the
idea is to generate basic technologies that can be assembled
into a Web (I mean J2EE in the largest sense, covering JSP
, EJB, Web Service & more..) development platform suite

There has been questions (e.g see excerpt from the web tools
mailing list below) on how ObjectWeb could participate to this
 effort

I think we could think about this question from an architectural
point of view. Every ObjectWeb project at some point invests in the
development aspect, we should figure out if it makes sense
technically to leverage this effort in the context of the Web Tools
project

A further question is related to the nature of the contributions
 that OW could made.

Please let me know what you think , hopefully we can also
discuss this at the OW conf

Best regards

        Christophe

Arthur,

ObjectWeb I think is quite looking forward to participate to the
project, as it is complementary to our run time platform. Given
the number of projects that ObjectWeb hosts there are certainly
a number of opportunities for collaborations

For what concerns JOnAS, we are first looking at having an effective
support of JOnAS by Eclipse and the Web Tool platform. For us JOPE
is a first step in that direction.

We'd like to extend the functions provided by JOPE, especially in the
area of Web service support .

Another area of interest is tools enabling to compose Web Services
e.g to generate bpel language
Best regards

Christophe
