For information, the packaging of a CORBA component addresses the kind
of requirements you explain. A CORBA component package could contain
several implementations and they are tagged with meta information like
OS name and version requirements. This is the role of the deployment
infrastructure to check and/or select the right implementation that
must be deployed on a host according meta data.
