The MySQL Users Conference 2005 will
be the largest gathering of MySQL developers and users. The 2005
Conference will be host to, leading industry keynote speakers, the latest
MySQL Open Source technologies, and interactive sessions and
tutorials.
Individuals and companies interested in making presentations or giving
tutorials are invited to submit proposals using the form below.
Presentations by marketing staff or with a marketing focus will not be
accepted; neither will submissions made by anyone other than the proposed
speaker.
Proposals will be considered in two classes:
Session Presentations - 45 minutes
Pre-conference Tutorials - 3 hours
If you are interested in participating in or moderating panel
discussions, or otherwise contributing to the conference, send an email
message to
mysidea@xxxxxxxxxxx
(please include your area of expertise).
The theme this year is "MySQL Everywhere." Proposals should be focused on helping attendees:
Harness the full power of MySQL including best practices
Learn and use new features in MySQL 5.0
Learn from experts who have used MySQL in various application architectures (Web, Data Warehouse, Cluster, Embedded, etc.)
Migrate from proprietary databases to MySQL
Submitting Proposals
Keep in mind that proposals need not be works of art. A summary or abstract of the talk you plan to give is sufficient for consideration. We prefer outlines for tutorials. The proposal is what the conference committee uses to select speakers, so give enough information that the committee can tell what you'll be covering. We may request additional information about your proposal as necessary.
NOTE: All presenters whose talks are accepted will receive free registration at the conference. For each half-day tutorial, the presenter receives one night's accommodation and a limited travel allowance. Tutors are eligible for a travel allowance: up to US$300 from the west coast of the USA, up to US$500 from the east coast of the USA, up to US$800 from outside the USA.
Registration will open December 2004. If you would like an email notification when registration opens, please sign up here.
The deadline to submit a proposal is Midnight (PST), November 1, 2004.
