Dear Colleagues,
Please find below a call for participation to the ISPDC 2005 edition.
It would be most kind, if you could help us distributing it.
At least one paper is related to an ObjectWeb project. This paper
entitled
"A Component-based Software Infrastructure for Ubiquitous Computing"
presents our work on dynamic discovery and automatic on-demand
deployment
of mobile context-aware applications. This is implemented on top of
the OpenCCM project (http://openccm.objectweb.org).
Best Regards,
Philippe Merle

International Symposium on Parallel and Distributed Computing (ISPDC'05)
July 4th- 6th 2005
Universite des Sciences et Technologies de Lille, France
http://www.lifl.fr/ispdc2005/
THEME
The 4th ISPDC meeting attempts to provide an interactive, professional
and high level (but friendly) ) forum for all researchers, developers
and users interested in parallel and distributed computing technologies
and applications. This year's ISPDC will give special attention to
Cluster, Grid and mobile computing technologies as they are rapidly
developing and lead to new high performance computing capabilities
through the sharing of distributed resources.
SCOPE
Authors will present original papers describing theorical and/or
experimental research in
the field of parallel and distributed computing and systems. The major
topics include:
- Grid Architecture and Systems
- Software Agents and Multi-agent Systems
- Programming Paradigms, Tools and Environments
- Resource Discovery and Management
- Task and Communication Scheduling and Load Balancing
- Mobile and Ubiquitous Computing
- Cluster and Grid based Computing and Environments
- Performance Management
- Parallel, Distributed and Mobile Databases
- Distributed Software Components
- Web and Peer-to-peer Computing and Services
- Adaptive Computing
- Real-time Distributed Systems
- Security
- Fault Tolerance
- Scientific Computing and Large Scale Simulations
- Distributed Applications and Case Studies
PROGRAMME, REGISTRATION, VENUE, ACCOMODATION, SOCIAL EVENTS : Please
see the conference web site
PUBLICATION : IEEE Computer Society. A set of the best grid-related
papers are considered for publication in Future Generation Computer
Systems (FGCS), The International Journal of Grid Computing: Theory,
Methods and Applications.
INVITED SPEAKERS
- Dr. Ian Foster, co-author of "The Grid: Blueprint for a New Computing
Infrastructure", is an internationally recognized researcher and leader
in the area of Grid computing. His Distributed Systems Lab at Argonne
National Laboratory and the University of Chicago is home to the Globus
Toolkit, the open source software that has emerged as the de facto
standard for Grid computing. Foster is also Chief Open Source
Strategist at Univa Corporation, a company he founded with other Globus
leaders to foster and promote the adoption of Globus as the premier open
source Grid technology. Foster is a fellow of the
British Computer Society and AAAS. His awards include the GII Next
Generation Award, the Lovelace Medal, and DSc Honoris Causa from the
University of Canterbury, New Zealand.
- Enrique Alba is a Professor of Computer Science at the University of
Málaga, Spain. His current research interests involve the design and
application of heuristic algorithms, neural networks, and other
bio-inspired systems to real problems including telecommunications,
combinatorial optimization, and bioinformatics. The main focus of all
his work is on parallelism. Dr. Alba has published many scientific
papers in international conferences and journals, as well as he holds
national and international awards to his research results. Besides, he
is the editor of several books on optimization, applications, and
parallelism.
