Re: [architecture] Google Summer Of Code 2006

I think this is a little difficult for different reasons:

- First we got invited into the Summer of Code following our participation in last year's Summer of Code. - Second they rejected eXo's application stating that J2EE applications were too "enterprise" focused and hard to get in for the students in a short project. - Third, we had only 7 projects last year with 40 organizations. There are close to 80 this year and we don't know how many projects will be accepted. We are small and we do need to boost our development. The Summer of Code was a big help last year. We count on it this year too and splitting our project share is not a very good idea for us.

However, I think we can accept project proposals that would make use of other ObjectWeb Projects.
If you have ideas you can submit them here:
http://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Projects/WebHome

We already have the eXo JCR integration which we do want to accept a project for.

Hi,
so bad.
For information, from ObjectWeb, XWiki will be part of the summer of code.

Maybe XWiki can change it's registration name to Objectweb ? ;)

Hi

for information: the organizers rejected our application:

as we are unable to take on new organizations."

I submitted an application to Google Summer of Code on behalf of ObjectWeb. Be aware that projects/mentors need to register and to provide resources
to monitor the student's work.

If you are interested to let your project participate, please make sure to
read the instructions (link below) and to notify me of the requested
information (name of the mentors, etc)

Thanks

Hi again

Google Summer of code[1] has started again this year.
Can Objectweb register as a mentoring organization[2] ?

That can be interesting for all objectweb projects to be funded by Google :)

Guillaume
