Re: [c-jdbc] tomcat 5.27 connection pooling

Hi,

It should work if you just change the url you are using.

so replace this:

<parameter>
       <name>driverClassName</name>
       <value>com.mysql.jdbc.Driver</value>
     </parameter>
<parameter>
       <name>url</name>
       <value>jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/mysqldatabasename</value>
     </parameter>

by this:

<parameter>
       <name>driverClassName</name>
       <value>org.objectweb.cjdbc.driver.Driver</value>
     </parameter>
<parameter>
       <name>url</name>
       <value>jdbc:cjdbc://localhost:25322/cjdbcdatabasename</value>
     </parameter>

Thanks for trying out C-JDBC.

If you have any more problem, let us know,

Nicolas,

Hi,
I consider to use c-jdbc with tomcat 5.27 and mysql(Raidb1 - with 1 tomcat
server and 2 mysql servers).
I am using jndi resources to configure jdbc data sources .(for connection
pooling)

In tomcat conf\server.xml i use a resource:
<Resource     name="jdbc/databasename" auth="Container"
                  type="javax.sql.DataSource"/>
<ResourceParams name="jdbc/databasename"> <!-- <parameter>
       <name>factory</name>
       <value>org.apache.commons.dbcp.BasicDataSourceFactory</value>
     </parameter>
   -->
     ...
<parameter>
       <name>driverClassName</name>
       <value>com.mysql.jdbc.Driver</value>
     </parameter>
<parameter>
       <name>url</name>
       <value>jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/mysqldatabasename</value>
     </parameter>
and in the $CATALINA_HOME/webapps/jsp-examples/WEB-INF/web.xml(the specific applications xml file)

i use the reference:

<resource-ref>
        <res-ref-name>jdbc/databasename</res-ref-name>
        <res-type>javax.sql.DataSource</res-type>
        <res-auth>Container</res-auth>
</resource-ref>

And of course i have the example.jsp code which obtains the context to look
up the jndi resource.

Is it possible to use c-jdbc with the connection pooling mechanism of tomcat 5.27 ? What changes are needed in the above statements when i use the c-Jdbc driver?

many thanks,bill
