 ObjectWebCon06, the next ObjectWeb annual conference will take place in Paris, la Défense, France, from January 31st to February 2nd, 2006.

 

 As ObjectWeb is moving in Analyst reports from a pure technical player  in open source infrastructure software to a consortium of market  players, its annual conferences strengthens as unique opportunity for  professionals to discover, learn and exchange on middleware and open  source software technology and Ecosystems.

 

 As an experienced professional of the domain, you are invited to submit proposals in one or more of the following sessions:

 

 - Parallel sessions

 - Best use case awards

 - Podium talks

 

 Please freely distribute this call to interested colleagues and friends.

 The ObjectWebCon06 program committee is seeking to receiving proposals for the following sessions:

 

 1. Parallel sessions (45 minutes)

 ==================================

 

 Sessions will cover the three following topics:

 

 T1- "Using Open Source Middleware for...":(3 presentations in each topic)

 

        . enterprise Java/APS (J2EE, Webportal, B2B, BI)

        . SOA (application integration, ESB,...)

        . Clustering/ GRID (autonomic management, provisioning large scale

          systems)

        . Ad hoc networked systems (telco, mobility, RFID, embedded)

 

 T2- "In the business of Open Source Middleware..." (6 presentations) Business models, legal aspects, OSS Strategy, public policies, real world cases, governmental uses)

 

 T3- "Focus on ObjectWeb projects" (10 presentations) Overview, introduction, primers, guided tours, getting started with ObjectWeb projects

 

 Guideline to submit in Parallel sessions

 -----------------------------------------

 * The title of the presentation.

 * A brief outline or abstract of the presentation (not to exceed 400 words).

 * For each speaker, the speaker name, title, company, professional street and email addresses, phone and fax numbers. Addresses, phone and fax numbers are for organization purposes only and will not be distributed to third parties without prior agreement.

 * A short biography of the proposed speaker(s) showing relevant experience and qualification to speak on the proposed subject matter (not to exceed 300 words).

 

 Submissions should be made online at http://ObjectWebCon06.objectweb.org/xwiki/bin/view/Main/CFP and should be written in English, presentations are to be given in English.

 

 Important dates for Parallel sessions:

 . Abstract due: November 21th, 2005

 . Notification: starting December 5th, 2005

 

 

 2. Best Use Cases Awards

 ========================

 

 The ObjectWebCon06 Best Use Cases contest is a challenge for which you may file one or several submissions about real world use cases of ObjectWeb components and platforms. Winners will be nominated by ObjectWeb members through on-line vote (December 1st-15th).

 

 Awards will be offered in the following categories:

 

 A1: Entreprise Java: production use of ObjectWeb enterprise Java components and platforms

 A2: ISV & Integration: commercial offering or development embedding some ObjectWeb components

 A3: Jury's Special Prize: any use of ObjectWeb components and platforms

 

 Guideline to run for Use Cases Awards:

 --------------------------------------

 

 * A brief outline or abstract (not to exceed 150 words.

 * ObjectWeb components that have been used.

 * a comment about this success "why has it been a success according to you?".

In option, you may add:

 * a complete description of the Use Case.

 Important dates for Use Case Awards:

 . Online vote: December 1-12

 . Notification: Starting December 15th

 

 3. Podium talks

 ===============

 Podium talks intends to give all participants an opportunity to present work they do relating to open source middleware. Podium speaker will have the floor for 10 minutes and may use up to 5 slides. Podium talks will complement technical sessions on the following topics:

 

 - enterprise grid

 - J2EE/APS

 - SOA/ESB

 - Telco

 

 Guideline for podium speakers:

 ------------------------------

 Podium talks are scheduled on a first-come first-served basis.
