On recent mailing lists problems

Dear ObjectWeb Member, Dear OW2 Member,

You have probably noticed that the mailing list system has not been
functioning properly or has been down for the last 3-4 days. This has
confused many committers and for one Member at least has delayed the
launch of a new product release. On behalf of the Management Office I
sincerely apologize for this situation.

We owe you an explanation, before telling you what we have done to fix
the problem.

As you know our webmaster, Xavier Moghrabi, left Inria and OW2, two weeks
ago. In January, we had arranged with a Strategic Member to provide a new
webmaster to replace Xavier. However, this new Webmaster was not able to
join on time which, as you can imagine, caused much stress and is making
the transition extremely precarious. Of course, the system decided to
crash while we were all attending the Quarterly Meeting and General
Assembly in Brussels!

The problem has now been solved and we have a solution for the long term.
Thanks to the efforts and dedication of Bull and Jacques Cayuela, a team
has now been organized to administrate the legacy environment on the
ObjectWeb machines. For the long term, two Strategic Members, Engineering
and Bull, have committed to provide system administration for the new OW2
environment, and will work together to ensure service continuity.
