Re: [enhydra] GPL License and "Enhydra Shark Project"

Title: GPL License and "Enhydra Shark Project"
Hi !

First of all, your application does NOT have to be GPL, there is a huge difference between GPL and LGPL.

You can "link" your code with an LGPL application and use any lic you want for your own code as long
as you make sure you let your customers know that you use an LGPL "library" and tell them where they
can get updates and find the source code for the LGPL "library".

In the case of enhydra it is tricky to say what you mean with "linking" though.

The GPL license is not involved in this in any way, that is a completley different license.

Note: At least this is how I interpret the LGPL license, correct me if I am wrong.

Subject: [enhydra] GPL License and "Enhydra Shark Project"

Hello,

I'd like to develop an application using "Enhydra Shark Project".

I've seen that the licence of the project is a LGPL one. So, I know that my application will become a GPL application.

Is there a commercial license that cancel the effect of the GPL (a such license exist on MySQL).

Thanks for your help,

Regards,

Isabelle.
