I understand that "supporting" means roviding a binary package for such 
systems.

My concern is, will it run, after compilation on my Mac OS X ?

Up to now, I managed to compile director (with some hand crafted 
configuration) on Mac OS X, along with enhydra 5.1. Will it still be 
true ?
