Enhydra Enterprise 6.0.1 Getting Started broken

Trying to get through the getting started document I got stuck in 
Chapter 5.  The DiscRack example does not build.  Seems that the ant 
scripts have references to undefined variables, for example eaf.home.  
It is very discouraging to try to learn a new system as complex as 
Enhydra with documentation that does not seem to match the stuff that is 
actually there.  I would appreciate any help I can get to resolve these 
problems.  I may have missed something during the installation maybe?
