Definitely !

You can either use Tomcat mod_jk + AJP connector with Apache 2 or Enhydra
Director + Director connnector for Tomcat for Apache 1.3. Director will
also support Apache 2 sometime next year.

sounds like this will allow me to run it with Apache 1.3.x. That would be
good.
