Octopus: Using external java classes in Octopus

Hi 
 
Before I start to peruse through the source, is there any hooks in octopus 
to link in external routines to generate columns. We have a situation where 
we need to generate some data for a column of the target table. This data 
may or may not require input data from column or columns in the source 
table.  
 
Is there thoughts of using a scripting language within the octopus system.  
 
We have successfully used octopus to  load databases from scratch and 
migrate from database to database. The only problem at the moment is the 
one mentioned above.
