Looks to me like your Kaffe java version is missing the Swing classes used by the installer to paint the "install" dialogue box. Couple of suggestions:

- do an install on another machine, zip/pack up the dir tree and copy it to the machine you have running Kaffe

- manually unpack the Jar using a zip tool of some form

- grab the sources from the ObjectWeb repository and do a build under Kaffe rather than an install
